About Company

Seaboard Energy, a Seaboard Corporation business, is dedicated to finding alternative energy sources. We work collaboratively with agricultural based companies, including other Seaboard companies, integrating carbon sources to promote sustainable energy projects, including but not limited to, the production of biodiesel, renewable natural gas and compressed natural gas.Our goal is to produce the highest quality energy, exceeding industry standards and our customers’ expectations while supporting sustainable alternative fuels in our communities.

Seaboard Energy is a Responsible Energy Producer. Seaboard Energy, formerly known as High Plains Bioenergy, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Seaboard Corporation. Seaboard Energy produces and supports the use of renewable energy. The company currently owns and operates two biodiesel plants with a combined annual production capacity of 75 million gallons. Seaboard Energy also produces and delivers pipeline quality renewable natural gas, as well as compressed natural gas.

Quality Commitment

The goal of Seaboard Energy is to produce the highest quality biodiesel fuel, focusing on exceeding our customers’ expectation and providing complete customer satisfaction. We comply with all requirements as a BQ-9000 Producer as described by the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission, exceed the requirements of ASTM D6751 specifications and are aligned with the National Biodiesel Board recommendations.

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is defined as mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats which conform to ASTM D6751 specifications for use in diesel engines. Biodiesel refers to the pure fuel before blending with diesel fuel. Biodiesel blends are denoted as, “BXX” with “XX” representing the percentage of biodiesel contained in the blend (ie: B20 is 20% biodiesel, 80% petroleum diesel).

Renewable Natural Gas

Seaboard Energy produces renewable natural gas (also known as RNG or biogas) from the Seaboard Foods waste water system, which is then scrubbed to pipeline quality using a pressure swing adsorption system and delivered to the interstate pipeline network to be used by the public as a renewable energy source.  RNG is generated by breaking down organic matter from components in the wastewater from the plant in an oxygen free environment; this process is called anaerobic digestion.  Supporting the use of RNG aligns with Seaboard Energy’s focus on multiple forms of alternative and renewable energy and supports the company’s environmental and sustainability commitments.

Compressed Natural Gas

With sizable transportation demands throughout Seaboard’s integrated system, Seaboard Energy’s compressed natural gas (CNG) supports the energy needs of Seaboard Foods’ CNG powered vehicles.Seaboard Energy also delivers fleet-focused natural gas solutions, opening its first 24/7 public CNG filling station, located across from Seaboard Foods’ pork processing plant at 3271 Highway 54 in Guymon, OK. The addition of this station ensures the availability of CNG to Seaboard Foods’ fleets and others.
