Why Windfree
Design
System design is a team approach based on system size and location. Windfree has an in house CAD engineer, and in addition, partners with premier architects to ensure systems meet all client specifications and building regulations. Windfree partners with component manufacturers, coordinating system design and architectural drawings, to ensure the best system size and layout to accomplish client renewable energy generation goals.
Installation
Our first step to a successful project is to perform a complete site evaluation. Our second step is to complete system design, electrical and structural engineering, and architectural drawings sealed for permitting and/or permit expediting service. Windfrees project management staff works closely with the installers, architects, engineers, procurement team and the clients utility to coordinate every step of the installation. Windfree uses NABCEP and ICC distributed generation certified installers on every project. Our equipment comes from tier one manufacturers with full performance warranties and product guarantees. Upon completion of the installation, Windfrees team will commission the solar array and test all aspects of the system to make sure it is functioning properly. Windfree prepares the monitoring system to enable customers to collect and access data via web or mobile devices. For two years following the completion of the project, Windfree monitors the system via the web and conducts biannual site visits to check the system. Windfree does not limit any of the services that we provide due to geographic proximity.
Commercial
The four featured projects make up 84,600 watts of solar. The roof and ground mount systems help to offset operating expenses and qualified for various incentives that made these systems profitable quickly. Locations include: Dananda Farm, 7 Oaks Farm, Drucker Farm, Midwest Ground Cover Solar System Size: 84.6 kW Annual Energy Production: 110,000 kWh Annual Cost Savings: $13,350 Annual CO2 Reduction: 77 Tons Planting Trees per Year: 3,076 Trees Windfree works with commercial operations to help meet an organizations sustainability goals and offset their energy use. Our turnkey renewable energy generation systems help businesses insulate themselves from utility increases that may have great impacts on their bottom line. These systems also help a business lower its carbon footprint. System sizes have ranged from 10kW to upwards of 300 kW solar systems. Several clients have augmented their solar installations with small wind turbines and electric vehicle charging stations.
